Food issues present themselves during the preteen years, adolescence, mid-life and beyond. This talk will help to make sense out of what contributes to the development of an eating disorder, signs and symptoms of the disorder, what to avoid, what to encourage and what to expect. Wed., March 14, 2012 – Internet Safety and Cyber-bullying
Being a part of on-line communities has become crucial to the healthy social development of youth in the US and around the world. Unfortunately, many parents remain naïve as to the activities of their children. Without an appropriate knowledge base of computers and on-line benefits as well as threats, parents cannot effectively guide their children in safe computer usage. Two common consequences are that, either parents overly restrict their children’s on-line behavior at cost to the child, or they turn a blind eye to the dangers and their children get in sometimes serious trouble. This workshop will empower parents and teachers with up to date information about technology, social networking and on-line threats. Strategies for safe computer usage will be discussed.
